Flameproof Teakettle /Teapot

$110.00

This teapot/kettle was thoughtfully designed to enhance your daily rituals. It's perfect for stove-top boiling, inviting mindfulness as you prepare tea. Once ready, it transitions beautifully to your table, enhancing every mindful moment. Equipped with a convenient strainer, it suits loose-leaf tea, herbs, or tea bags—whichever complements your daily routine best. Bringing this handmade piece into your home adds warmth and beauty to your kitchen. Pair it with mugs and plates for a complete tea set.

On the surface of tea kettle, I carve Chibcha hieroglyphs, a gesture that reflects my own Colombian background and the blending of cultures within my family—my Indian husband, our son, and me. These marks represent the everyday merging of our worlds and the shared rituals that connect us.

  • Capacity: Approximately 14 oz / 1 and 1/2 cups

  • Dimensions: About 7 inches from the spout tip to the handle end, approximately 4 inches wide, and 4 inches tall.

  • Materials: Flameproof clay

    • Rich exterior glaze, accentuating the natural clay color on the knob.

  • Creation Method: Thrown and assembled by hand.

  • Firing: Fired to 2345°F in reduction, soda firing.

All ceramics I create are microwave and dishwasher safe, crafted from durable flameware clay and fired to cone 10, approximately 2300°F.
